Key Principles for Our Media Training

All media skills training workshops organised by TVE Asia Pacific follow these basic principles:

All participants are selected through an open, competitive application process based on merit and relevance.
Organisational nominations are allowed, but selection depends on individual merit. Training opportunities are not transferable within the same organisation.
Preference is given to mid-career professionals (with at least 3 – 5 years of experience).
Our media training is meant for practising journalists, not managers or researchers.
Sponsorships are given based on demonstrated need, with priority for those coming from low and middle income countries.
We also accommodate a few self-funding participants in all training programmes.
We make no discrimination between state owned and privately owned TV broadcasters.
Our training assumes an existing professional skills level and some basic training. We also do not provide hardware (camera, editing) related training.
Our focus is on practical aspects rather than mere concepts and theory.
All our training is designed and delivered by resource teams comprising Asia Pacific nationals or those with many years of experience working in our region.
